Get a spare key
made NOW before you need it. Don't trust magnetic key holders, they can
fall off, and not be there when you need them. Find a safe place to keep your
spare, and leave one with a trusted friend or relative.
If your vehicle
is equipped with one of the new transponder anti-theft systems, having a spare
key is very important. These systems, if they can be serviced, require expensive
specialized equipment for originating new keys. Service on these vehicles will

Copy down the
code numbers for your keys, give a copy to a trusted friend or relative, or
write them on the back of your drivers license or some other item you will have
with you. If you have a lost key or lockout situation, being able to supply an
